Kaivolution is a Hamilton-based organisation run under the umbrella of the Waikato Environment Centre. A not-for-profit organisation that acts as a link between the food industry and community groups that support people in need, aiming to stop edible food from being needlessly thrown away and ensure that it reaches those in our community who are struggling or vulnerable.
SkyCity Hamilton led the way within the SkyCity Entertainment Group, in embedding a food rescue process with Kaivolution that sees the redistribution of surplus food from our kitchens to charitable organisations in the surrounding area. Over the last year, 1,400kg food has been donated to many worth causes that feed people in desperate need.
