Baccarat

One of the most glamorous of casino games, Baccarat is popular among serious, sophisticated punters because it has the largest wagers available in the casino.

Overview

Popularised by the great duel between James Bond and Le Chiffre in Ian Fleming's Casino Royale, Baccarat has many similarities to Blackjack but you don't look to get a score of 21 - every player's ultimate hand is 9 as all the cards with a value of 10 (except the Ace) are worth zero.

Baccarat is easy to learn and fun to play.

The object of the game is to anticipate which hand will win ... either 'Player', 'Banker' or 'Tie'. Hand values range from 0-9 as picture cards and 10s count as 0.

for example:

7 + 3 = 0
10 + 4 = 4
10 + 10 = 0

The hand with the greatest value wins.

How do I play?

'Player', 'Banker', 'Tie', 'Pair Bank' and 'Pair Player' bets are the five possible bets to wager. Bets are made by placing your wager in the appropriately marked area.

The Dealer will call "No more bets" and proceed to deal the cards to a set table of play (refer to Table of Play).

Any winning 'Player' bets are paid even money. Any winning 'Banker' bets are paid even money, with the exception that when the Banker wins with a total of 6 then the bets are paid at odds of 1 to 2 (half). If there is a 'Tie', anyone who bet on the tie will be paid back 8 to 1.
