Criteria
The SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust considers applications from community and charitable organisations involved in the following activities:
- Community projects that provide care, treatment or counselling, teach life-skills and provide educational programmes or research.
- Projects that promote the arts, culture and entertainment in New Zealand. Including promotion, recognition and understanding of different cultures living in New Zealand.
- Initiatives that improve family financial security and wellbeing
Because more funds are likely to be requested than the Trust has available for distribution, priority will be given to:
- Organisations whose funding application is for a specific purpose or project.
- Organisations that can prove their ability to plan and undertake activities effectively, and account for funds provided
- Organisations that are striving for self-reliance, and are able to make some financial contribution to the project
- Organisations able to show a real need for Trust support
- Organisations that have pursued other avenues of funding and fundraising
As a general rule, the following areas have a lower priority for the SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust:
- Funding individuals;
- Adult recreation, including sport;
- General funding such as administration costs;
- Ongoing assistance;
- Making endowments;
- Travel or vehicles (unless the vehicle is specialised such as a mobile medical facility);
- Medical research;
- Salaries or wages;
- Land, buildings or property renovation
